Our packaging team’s responsibility is to ensure that every packaged product delivers on our “composite beer” promise and to provide our consumers with the meticulously and carefully crafted products they demand. Our packaging team is constantly improving systems and introducing new equipment to ensure that we stay ahead of the industry and it is these technicians who combine the raw outputs from our various departments to manufacture the final product for our consumers.

As a Packaging Technician, you will be responsible for:

  1. Execution of all procedures with attention to detail:
    1. Follow SOPs for bottling, canning and kegging beer to exact specifications for correlating formats
    2. Perform barrel cleaning operations
    3. Label, package, wax, stage and store finished goods and products as required
    4. Assist with brite beer cellaring, including tank CIP/SIP/purge, carbonation, ingredient additions, general cleanup
    5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of packaging and cellar activities (Ekos, cellar travelers, etc.)
    6. Assist in performing finished product inventory counts and physical movements as directed by the Senior Packing Operator
    7. Receipt of raw materials and preparation/shipment of finished products
  2. Be a strong teammate:

    2. Follow all company safety and quality procedures
    3. Provide training to others based on areas of expertise

  3. Think critically:
    1. Excellent understanding of packaging equipment and ability to operate, troubleshoot and maintain
    2. Assist in the creation of new SOPs and improve existing SOPs in the packaging department
    3. Perform basic maintenance of packaging equipment as directed by the Senior Packaging Operator
    4. Perform sensory evaluation during manufacturing and after packaging

  3. Supervisory Skills:
    1. Use independent action to set goals and decide how to proceed; tasks are given in the form of general objectives or areas of responsibility
    2. Able to keep busy during slow times
    3. Use company apps to communicate and update other employees
  4. Hours and Physical Requirements:
    1. Must be 21 years old
    2. Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time, lift up to 50 lbs and work in hot, cold and humid conditions
    3. Must be physically able and willing to drive a forklift with training
    4. A typical schedule will be Monday to Friday morning shifts ranging from 4 to 8 hours with flexibility to help evening or weekend shifts as needed
    5. This is a part-time position offering approximately 25 hours/week with the possibility of moving to full-time
    6. Must be able to request time off two weeks in advance
