We are looking to hire a talented visualization artist having a mix of technical skills and graphic sensitivities. You will be an integral part of the CNCPT Collaborative, a team that advances the use of practice technology at Clark Nexsen and will lead the Visualization Innovation Center. As a member of this team, you will be exposed to an ecosystem of digital technologies and tools, which includes new and emerging technologies. You will actively contribute to the research and adoption of emerging and innovative technologies that are at the forefront of the industry.

This position requires expert proficiency in industry standard visualization software and a demonstrated commitment to creativity, research and innovation. Passionate about communicating design through digital media, you will collaborate with project teams to deliver sophisticated and compelling visuals. In addition to working on production, you will research and implement the latest visualization technologies. This is a multi-faceted position that focuses on the areas of project technical assistance, training, research and development.

General responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Work collaboratively with project teams to produce compelling visuals to communicate design intent in a digital medium best suited to the task – photos, animations, 360 panoramas, virtual reality and videos
  • Lead the CNCPT Collaborative visualization hub
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, evaluate new software and hardware, assess product viability
  • Create implementation plans for deploying new software and hardware
  • Organize materials and other graphic resource libraries, standardize workflows
  • Democratize certain rendering technologies, engage with and train staff to elevate the rendering quality of a typical project
  • Inculcate visualization as a process tool during the design and coordination phases
  • Engage with staff at different levels to educate them on different visualization technologies
  • Help maintain and create company-wide documentation, procedures and standards
  • Possess current knowledge of practice technology best practices, enterprise-wide standards, and expectations for design excellence in a multidisciplinary enterprise.
  • Coordinate and/or lead training related to practice technology, participate in new employee orientation, make presentations to staff

Education, technology and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, graphic design, arts or equivalent preferred
  • 5+ years of work experience in an architectural or engineering firm, or 3+ years in CGI
  • Advanced knowledge of Lumion, Twinmotion, Enscape, Autodesk 3ds Max, V-Ray, Blender
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier, Aftereffects
  • Knowledge of Da Vinci Resolve is a plus
  • Adept at video and sound editing
  • Proficiency in design creation software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, Sketchup
  • Experience with Unreal Engine and Unity

Additional knowledge, skills and abilities

  • Strong foundation of visual storytelling, look development, lighting/camera composition
  • Detail oriented with strong communication and time management skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage time, operate with some degree of autonomy, consistently meet deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and deliver a high quality product
  • Ability to exercise judgment and discretion, set priorities and manage competing demands
  • Ability to proactively problem solve and apply innovative solutions
  • Experience working in architecture, engineering or related industries, with knowledge of project processes, milestones and deliverables.
  • Pervasive curiosity for the latest technologies and visualization trends, willingness to continuously learn and keep abreast of emerging technologies

* Respond with portfolios ideally demonstrating skills in composition, textures and lighting. Include examples of photorealistic and stylistic work.

Physical requirements

The work is sedentary and often performed in an office. The work area is lighted, heated and ventilated. This position may require long periods of standing, sitting, as well as repetitive motions, bending, and lifting with minimal weight.
