Jake Paul update on KSI vs. Alex Wassabi

Viddal Riley has confirmed that he will not be taking part in KSI’s YouTube boxing return in August.

YouTube star KSI – real name JJ Olatunji – will return on August 27 with an as-yet-unannounced opponent. Riley coached KSI for his previous victory over fellow content creator Logan Paul in 2019, but his charge has yet to lace up his gloves since.

And Riley admitted he wouldn’t be able to commit to coaching KSI while he focuses on his own career. “I have no involvement in his fight,” Riley revealed to Battle Mirror while discussing the star’s return. “No implications, this game is no joke, we have people who dedicate their lives.

“I can’t do it part-time otherwise I’m going to be exposed. I can’t do that so obviously I put my heart and my time into my own boxing career and that involves not training. Training is a full time job if you’re going to do it right. Boxing is a full time job if you’re going to do it right. I’m looking to throw hands instead of training hands.

The 24-year-old has been heavily involved in KSI’s past win after taking the reins after his white-collar fight with Paul ended in a split-decision draw. KSI has yet to name a comeback opponent, but has been heavily linked with YouTube star Alex Wassabi and Conor McGregor’s teammate Dillon Danis.

KSI previously admitted that he can fight Wassabi in a bid to avenge his brother Deji’s earlier loss to the American. “Okay, as a warm-up fight to get rid of the cobwebs, I’ll be fighting Alex Wassabi,” he said on a recent episode of SideCast. “Come in and fuck him, I’ll redeem Deji and say ‘this is how you do it’.

“I’m going to lose weight. If I lose to Alex Wassabi, I’ll never do boxing or music again in my life. I’ll quit. I won’t even charge people, I’ll do it for free. I’ll show everyone. everyone a sick event and make it free.”

Olatunji’s long-term boxing goal is to settle his feud with Jake Paul who announced his own return for an earlier date in August. He revealed that he still doesn’t like the “problem kid” and plans to become the first man to defeat Paul. [Jake] him, I’m sorry, Logan,” KSI said on Paul’s Impaulsive podcast. “I think he’s ac***.

“Obviously he broke it, he killed it, with what he did – good f*****g play, that’s pretty good. The way he knocked out Tyron Woodley, stupid. But for me, I can’t in my heart be like, ‘Ah, I love him now.’ I can’t. Maybe when I beat him. But I know everybody always says, ‘Shut the fuck up, KSI, you haven’t been in the ring that long, you can’t beat Jacques. Paul.”
