Of the total hiring activity of the aerospace, defense and security industry, IT jobs claimed a 26.84% share in March 2022, registering a decline of 0.99% compared to compared to the average share of the last three months.
Top Five Job Classifications in Aerospace, Defense and Security Industry IT Recruitment Activity in the United States as of March 2022
Of the total number of job titles, the top five roles accounted for a 97.02% share of the U.S. Aerospace, Defense and Security industry’s overall IT recruitment activity in March 2022 .
1) Software and web developers, programmers and testers recorded a share of 53.77% in March 2022, registering a decrease of 21.29% compared to the previous month.
2) Computer and information researchers claimed a 17.63% share, down 27.8% from the previous month.
3) Database and network administrators and architects held a 14.72% share, down 23.33% from February 2022.
4) Computer and information analysts captured a 6.14% share, down 25.24% from the previous month.
Top five aerospace, defense and security companies in US IT recruiting activity as of March 2022
The top five companies, by number of jobs tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined 17.05% average decline in share of the U.S. aerospace, defense industry’s overall IT recruitment activity and security in March 2022 compared to February 2022.
Boeing posted 1,443 IT jobs in March 2022 and was down 29.92% from the previous month, followed by Leidos Holdings with 997 jobs and down 3.39%. Lockheed Martin with 845 IT jobs and Northrop Grumman with 586 jobs, saw growth of 9.46% and decline of 11.48%, respectively, while L3 Harris Technologies saw a decline of 31.82% with 542 job offers in March 2022.
Mid-level job openings dominate in March 2022
Mid-level jobs held a share of 46.35%, down 23.46% from February 2022. Junior-level positions, with a share of 38.9%, saw a decline of 21.09 % compared to the previous month.
In third place were entry-level vacancies with 14.02% market share, down 20.11% from February 2022, while senior vacancies accounted for 0.73%, registering a monthly increase of 21.05%.
