Position: Harvest Intern/Press Operator

Company: La Source Cidre

Place of work: Wenatchee, Washington

Full-time or part-time: full-time – seasonal, hourly. This is a temporary position from August to early December with variable hours. Must be willing to work overtime as needed during harvest season.

Reporting to: Production Manager

About the job

The Harvest Intern will primarily support the winery by assisting with apple pressing and facility sanitation while gaining experience and knowledge about apples and the cider making process.

The Source Cider is a growing cider house based in Wenatchee Washington, providing premium juice and custom fermentation to cider houses across the country. Work directly with cider mills of all stages and sizes to provide access to quality cider fruit, bulk juice and the ability to rapidly scale production.

Professional responsibilities

  • Primary baler operator during harvest (training provided). Must be able to learn how to properly use and clean the press.

  • Follow all sanitation procedures for press and support equipment

  • Must be organized and able to maintain necessary records for all production related activities

  • Work closely with production/operations management to execute daily/weekly schedules

  • Assist the production team with all facility cleaning protocols

Additional expectations

  • Available Monday to Friday with flexible working hours during peak season (harvesting/pressing)

  • Effective at multitasking and problem solving with good time management skills

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Very organized with great attention to detail

  • Able to prioritize and make informed decisions in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

  • Forklift certified (or willing to become certified)

  • Willingness to follow and enforce all internal safety protocols including mask/COVID policies

  • Attend weekly production meetings

  • Other assigned/required tasks

  • Able to lift 50 pounds

  • Able to stand for long periods (more than 8 hours per day)
