Crossbeam helps companies partner with each other in a more data-driven way by acting as an escrow service for data. Our platform allows businesses to find overlapping customers and leads with their partners while keeping the rest of their data private and secure.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about solving unique engineering problems that can change from day to day. It is not a personnel management role. This role reports directly to our CISO, Chris Castaldo.

Responsibilities include:

  • Hands-on engineering implementing tools, configurations and solutions.
  • Participate in almost every aspect of cybersecurity.
  • Be technically active in cybersecurity projects and processes from start to finish.
  • Implement the changes through Terraform in AWS.
  • Work on new technologies that you may not have used before and clarify aspects of the business that you haven’t had a chance to troubleshoot.
  • Lead and manage incidents from inception to RCA.
  • Manage penetration testing and work with relevant business partners to resolve issues.
  • Provide expert insight and advice to the business on cybersecurity investments.
  • Identify and fix gaps in cybersecurity controls.
  • Manage relationships with critical cybersecurity vendors, help develop and implement short and long term strategies to enable the business to grow rapidly.

Here are some of your traits:

  • You have experience building parts of cybersecurity programs.
  • You have experience in managing supplier relationships.
  • You have experience or knowledge of Terraform.
  • You have a solid knowledge of computer functions.
  • You have knowledge of modern EDRs such as Uptycs.
  • You have experience with AWS or GCP and how it relates to SaaS/IaaS.
  • You have worked in incident management (cyber is a must, IT would be nice too).
  • You understand CD/CI security controls such as Gitlab.
  • You have worked with various cloud infrastructure security controls (we use AWS).
  • You have experience with security controls in tools such as Google Workspace, Slack, Salesforce, etc.
  • You have some experience with Python or are ready to learn it.
  • You have experience with one or all of the following products (Symmetry Systems DataGuard, Uptycs, Tenable, Automox, Axonius, Obsidian Security, SafeBase, Tines) or similar competitive products.
  • You are not afraid to speak up when you have a point of view, but you can “disagree and commit” once the final decision has been made.
  • You have an excellent bedside manner.

Interview process

We follow the same interview steps for all Senior Cybersecurity Engineer candidates to ensure fairness in our hiring process. Our process is designed to learn as much as possible about each candidate, as well as give candidates access to our team and experience what it’s like to be a team member at Crossbeam. Topics will range from technical skills to problem-solving approaches and collaboration

  3. 1 hour “Scenario Screen”
  4. Final interviews
    1. 45 minutes with RSSI
    2. 30 minutes with the IT Operations Manager
    3. 30 minutes with the CTO

*Colorado Residents: There is a minimum salary of $150,000 plus equity and benefits for this position. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, health, dental, vision, 401k+ match, flexible PTO, parental leave, and fully remote working. The salary for this role can vary depending on your location, skills and experience.


This role can be based anywhere in the United States.

Crossbeam has always been committed to building a remote-first culture, even before the pandemic. We have a founder footprint in the Philadelphia area and team members spread across the country. The majority of our collaborative work takes place on Slack and Zoom.

When travel is comfortable again, we will celebrate with team meetings and non-mandatory offsite events a few times a year.
