Saratoga Racetrack to Host Career Fair Ahead of Next Summer Meet – troyrecord

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY – The New York Racing Association (NYRA) will host a three-day job fair later this month for those interested in working at Saratoga Racetrack during the 2022 summer meet.

The job fair will take place from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 19; from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 20; and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 21 inside the 1863 Club at Saratoga Race Course.

Job seekers should enter through the Pavilion gates at the intersection of Wright Street and Frank Sullivan Way. Parking will be available on the clubhouse grounds.

Historically, the annual meet at the Saratoga Racetrack supports the employment of over 2,000 full-time, part-time and seasonal workers. According to an independent study commissioned by the Saratoga County Industrial Development Agency, the annual operation of the Saratoga Racetrack generates an economic impact of up to $240 million in the Nine County Capital Region.

Opportunities at this year’s career fair will include hospitality ambassadors; Client services; cashiers; parking attendants; ticket scanners; representatives of the betting brigade; white caps/ushers; box office; betting agents; parking attendants; technology interns; security guards; carriers; cooks; wait staff; bus; merchandise clerk; dealership supervisors and cashiers; cleaners; and warehouse workers.

Positions are available with NYRA, Integrated Staffing, Levy Restaurants, Mazzone Hospitality, AmTote International, Dyehard Fan Supply, AllPro, and Union Square Events, among others.

Applicants must be at least 15 years old and have New York State certified work documents. Prospective security guards, cashiers and betting clerks must be at least 18 years old to apply and security guards must have a high school diploma or GED. All applicants must show photo ID and a Social Security card or I-9 alternative.

Highlighted by the 153rd renewal of the Grade 1, $1.25 million Runhappy Travers on August 27 and the Grade 1, $1 million Whitney on August 6, the 2022 summer meet at the historic Saratoga Race Course will open on Thursday July 14 and will continue until Monday September 5. After the four-day opening weekend, racing will take place five days a week, Wednesday through Sunday, except for the final week, when competition ends on Labor Day.
