The street view of Valpo’s Memorial Opera House and Sheriff’s Residence is a window into a simpler time. It’s beautiful, graceful and nostalgic. You can almost see the inhabitants of the 1800s moving around. This street view is a crown jewel in Valpo. So why would an architect plan a huge addition of glass and steel that would ruin historical authenticity? County Heads: Maintain these two buildings, but do not contaminate them with inappropriate additions. Think Soldier Field’s “spaceship” is an upgrade in architectural beauty? Any addition should match the architecture, not ruin it.

A reporter was preparing a story about the shootings in Monterey Park and Half-Moon Bay, but before he could even finish the play, there had been six more mass shootings. Our country has gone berserk.

So what’s taking the new Republican House majority so long to hold hearings? on the most pressing issue facing America today: Hunter Biden’s laptop. What will they find? Evidence of aliens on earth? Who really killed JFK? Was 9/11 a Democratic government hoax? And if they find (gasp!) nothing! Only a complete waste of the taxpayer’s time and money.

Why does someone send a Quickly and stare at a grocery bagger? These are entry level jobs or for retirees who still like to work part time. Not everyone can get a dream job picking up road kills.

Our health care system is broken, our democracy is eroding, and many people cannot afford nutritious food, and is our country spending time, money and media space on a mascot for a confectionery company? Seriously?

You must laugh. Republicans are determined whether Hunter Biden in no way took advantage of his father’s presidency to bond. Are we supposed to believe that Ivanka, Don, Jr. and Erik didn’t profit from their father’s presidency? Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, were even officially part of the administration. Remember all those brand deals Ivanka made in China, the billions invested in Jared’s businesses by the Saudis, and who knows what deals Don, Jr. and Erick cooked up when they were supposedly the bosses of the Trump empire?

Who thought Republicans could make gas stoves part of the culture wars? Well, Trump did it with a toilet he said needed to be flushed 15 times. And after? There are plenty of devices left for Republicans to target.

What about the price of gasoline this month? You have the Biden crowd pushing for $3.59 in gas and the Trump crowd pushing for $3.18 in gas. Definitely worth shopping this week. It changes every day and you can’t rely on discount clubs to get the best price this month! Joe must expect to sell a few more electric cars.

Kevin McCarty does not assign House members to committees based on experience or expertise or to give meaning to committee work in relation to the general function of the House. No way. For the wicked and vindictive McCarthy, it’s about rewarding the incompetent who backed him and punishing anyone who dared to stand up to Donald Trump and his criminal behavior. It sounds like “just politics,” but these committees perform important functions related to effective domestic policy and national security, and McCarthy staffs them with George Santos and Marjorie Taylor Greene.

If Trump has Marjorie Taylor Greene as his running mate, they’ll have to add a second Quickly for any comments on those two. Who will say the weirdest thing that day? Will Trump allow someone to tell a bigger lie?
