Architecture Restoration Conservation, PC provides specialist architectural, restoration and building conservation services for the investigation, repair and preservation of buildings. Our missions range from the study of specific defects in the building envelope and sealing to complete projects in several phases. We are looking for highly disciplined professionals to support our clientele.

The position of Project architect is an intermediate-level position for recent graduates with three to five years of practical experience in the field of historic preservation. This is a unique opportunity to work side-by-side and assist the company director in the development and delivery of projects from start to finish. The position requires a high level of AutoCAD proficiency.

This is a remote position requiring regular travel to New York. Candidates must live in the New York metropolitan area and be able to examine buildings from fire escapes, aerial lifts, and suspended scaffolds.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Perform measurements in the field
• Conduct water infiltration investigations
• Inspect apartments being renovated
• Inspect building facades and roofs
• Prepare building condition surveys and reports
• Produce construction drawings in AutoCAD
• Maintain and develop office CAD detailing library
• Prepare construction cost estimates
• Coordinate the work done by sub-consultants
• Coordinate tender services
• Assist with construction administration and project close-out services

Minimum requirements and attributes:
• Authorized to work in the United States
• B.Arch, M.Arch, MSHP or equivalent degree
• Three (3) years of experience in the field of exterior restoration / historic preservation
• Possibility to travel in the five boroughs of New York
• Ability to perform inspections from fire escapes, aerial work platforms and suspended scaffolds
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Mastery of AutoCAD

Highly desirable attributes:
• NYC scaffold certification
• Experience preparing local Law 11/98 or FISP reports
• Knowledge of Adobe InDesign
• Knowledge of Bluebeam
• Autodesk Certification (i.e. ACU, ACA, ACP or ACE)
• Good time management, organizational and communication skills
• Keen interest in building technology and historic preservation
