PNC Arena hires 400 workers ::

– PNC Arena will host its biggest hiring event of the year on Tuesday to fill more than 400 part-time positions.

A spokesperson told WRAL News that it takes about 1,200 part-time workers to keep 150 events running year-round with an average of 800 part-timers per event. The hires will help Carolina Hurricanes games, North Carolina State University basketball games, concerts and family shows run smoothly.

The hiring event will take place on August 30 from 3-6 p.m. at 1400 Edwards Mill Road in Raleigh. Interviews will take place on site.

Openings include a wide variety of positions. Positions available include change crew, concession stand managers, cooks, parking lot cashiers, retail associates, security and more. Find more jobs online.

PNC Arena offers employee benefits like a 30% discount at the merchandise store and tickets to games and events with free parking. The pay scale depends on the position, but many pay between $12 and $18 per hour. Employees must be 18 years old.

Don Waddell, president of PNC Arena and general manager of the Hurricanes, said the site wants to make work fun for employees.

“We do these skate parties, which is a big hit,” he said. “We have around 1,000 pairs of skates and let people go out – a lot of people have never skated before.”

Once, at an appreciation event, Waddell set up a dip tank so employees could watch him get soaked.

“We compete with a lot of different companies,” he said. “All of our events are at night, so we welcome a lot of people who work the day and come here for the work and events they choose, and we try to reward them with some of the extra perks they might not. not get Another place.”

Employees will be able to experience a variety of events based on their interests.

“It’s a great place to work,” Waddell said. “Between NC State basketball games if you’re a fan of that, or hockey, or all the concerts that come on here and family shows.
