Phronesis Security Partners with Retrospect Labs to Offer State-of-the-Art Cyber Incident Simulation Program

COMPANY NEWS: Phronesis Security, Australia’s first B Corp-certified cybersecurity company, has announced a strategic partnership with Retrospect Labs to bolster both companies’ offerings amid renewed interest in cyber incident preparedness in government and industry.

The two companies have partnered to provide a unique cyber incident preparedness and training program for organizations of all sizes. As part of this enhanced collaboration, Phronesis Security works closely with the client’s business, security and IT stakeholders to develop action plans and playbooks in addition to providing targeted training. Retrospect Labs then leads cyber incident response teams through simulations of actual cyber incident scenarios using the company’s industry-leading cybersecurity exercise platform, Gauntlet.

The partnership stems from the shared experience and history of Phronesis Security Chief Realist CEO Elliot Dellys and Retrospect Labs COO Ryan Janosevic, both alumni of the Australian Signals Directorate. They have seen firsthand the scale and sophistication of the cyber threats facing Australian organizations and have created disruptive start-ups to help meet the challenge.

“We’re excited to not only offer a world-class incident preparedness program, but to work hand-in-hand so those preparations can truly be put to the test. By partnering with Retrospect Labs, we’re providing a greater than the sum of its parts. Ryan, Jason and I have all moved from government to the private sector before launching cyber start-ups in Australia. Together, we bring insights from domestic threat combat to simply help organizations manage the day-to-day,” says Phronesis Security Chief Realist CEO Elliot Dellys.

Retrospect COO Ryan Janosevic said of the partnership, “One of the first decisions we made was that we wanted to be recognized as specialists, delivering only the highest quality exercises. Being an expert at one thing is great because it allows us to focus and develop unique skills and knowledge, but it means we’re only dealing with our specific part of the problem – so we couldn’t be happier ‘have the opportunity to work closely with Phronesis Security (who are also experts in what they do) to bring added value to our clients.Having worked together for ten years and started the adventure of the start- up almost simultaneously, there is an intrinsic trust between us. Shared knowledge, shared problems, but different skills and a different perspective. e mean that together we are uniquely placed to help our customers in meaningful ways.

Collaboration between companies will be at the heart of the service offer. This is fueled by a shared belief that technical and non-technical stakeholders need clear, pragmatic guidance aligned with broader business goals.

For Phronesis Security, the partnership with Retrospect Labs comes after a year of strong growth in which the company achieved B Corp certification and became a PCI DSS Qualified Security Assessor company. Recently, the company further strengthened its strategic reach with the hiring of veteran cybersecurity expert Barry Grek as director of governance, risk and compliance.
