The New York State Department of Public Service has announced that individuals interested in a career in the state public service can apply for and take the Professional Career Opportunities (PCO) examination, a civil service used to fill more than 150 entry-level professional titles in New York agencies. .

This exam, which is offered online for the first time, is the largest exam administered by the Department of Civil Service. Qualified candidates who have a bachelor’s degree or will have a bachelor’s degree by June 30, 2023 can apply for the exam online until 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30. All applicants who apply must take the exam online by 11:59 p.m. Thursday, December 15.
