We are looking for a Junior Architect Designer / Purchasing Assistant with a strong work ethic, creative, responsible, self-motivated, highly organized, detail oriented, personable and able to communicate clearly. This role includes the development and manufacture of a green building product and other shop support services, as well as design and drafting support for the office. This is a physical/hands-on, creative and technical position. The ideal candidate would have technical skills to work with a variety of materials, computer skills for 2D and 3D design, and artistic sensibilities.

Eric Rosen Architects is a boutique office, run like a collaborative studio, where everyone has the opportunity to contribute to all phases of a project. In addition to experience, we are looking for a candidate willing to learn, grow, participate and contribute in a rigorous, fast-paced and dynamic atmosphere.

Other important qualifications and/or useful skills would be:

• Experience with woodworking and other shop tools.

• Lift the equivalent of sheets of plywood and perform physical work in a workshop

• Ambitious, goal-oriented, autonomous and self-motivated.

• Ability to take direction and work smoothly in a small, collaborative environment.

• Curiosity and interest in growing with our team.

• Strong technical and graphic communication skills.

• Able to communicate effectively with team members, clients and consultants.

• Ability to learn and grasp new concepts quickly with a willingness to accept new challenges.

• Ability to prioritize and manage tasks against deadlines.

• High level of organization and attention to detail.

• A professional diploma, minimum BArch.

• Legal authorization to work in the United States

• Current residence in Los Angeles within reasonable proximity to the office.

• Driving license and car.

• Fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Working with us in this role, you will:

• Support the office in design and drawing

• Assist in the shop using basic carpentry tools such as a router, crosscut saw, drill, mixers, mixers and paint rollers.

• Assist in the production of a green architectural product.

• Prepare and coordinate architectural drawings, renderings and specifications to meet project requirements under the general supervision of the General Manager and Director.

• Manage cross-functionally with staff.

• Prepare presentation kits.

• Research materials and products; Consult with manufacturers, suppliers, consultants and contractors to propose appropriate design solutions.

• Implement building codes, zoning ordinances, etc. and coordinate with government agencies.
