The Cybersecurity Professional Organization (ISC)2 today launched its 100k scheme in the UK, which aims to attract more skilled cybersecurity talent to the job market.

The initiative will enable 100,000 people in the UK to apply for the UK 100k scheme, gain access to a free self-directed education course for Entry Level Certification (ISC) 2 and cover the cost of the exam. also.

(ISC)2 hopes the program will help fill the cybersecurity skills gap in the UK. The organization estimates that there are at least 33,000 cybersecurity jobs in the UK currently vacant and that this figure is growing.

“The cybersecurity profession needs the next generation to join its ranks more than ever,” said Clar Rosso, CEO of (ISC)2. “Unfortunately, until now, people looking for their first job in cybersecurity often don’t know where to start, what to expect, or how to convince employers to give them a chance.

“To address this issue, we have developed the Entry Level Cyber ​​Security (ISC) 2 Certification to be a trusted endorsement of an individual and their fundamental knowledge, skills and abilities. Through the 100K scheme in the UK , we are committed to giving 100,000 cybersecurity career candidates the opportunity to achieve this certification for free, making a powerful contribution that positively impacts the challenge of the cybersecurity workforce in the UK today, not years from now.

According to figures from the organization, the cybersecurity industry needs to recruit at least 10% more skilled workers to meet the current demand for talent.

The UK 100k scheme is now open to applicants and is open to all UK residents who do not hold Cyber ​​Security Certification (ISC) 2.

Recent graduates, those undertaking a career change, and other IT professionals looking to take their careers in a slightly different direction are all encouraged to apply.

The entry-level course covers topics such as security principles, incident response concepts including business continuity and disaster recovery, access controls, network security, and network operations. security.

Self-paced course access is valid for 180 days and the voucher used for free entry to the exam can be redeemed within 365 days from the date of issue.

Upon completion of the course, candidates will become full members of Industry Body (ISC) 2 with access to even more resources to expand their skills and move into more advanced careers with the CISSP and CCSP exams .
