The Home Depot Inc. connects skilled tradespeople with hiring professionals in the construction and home improvement industries.
The home improvement giant is now allowing skilled trades job seekers to visit the PathtoPro.com job training and job placement website to create a profile, upload their resume and add photos of their work to connect with Home Depot Pro customers looking to hire in their area.
To help job seekers showcase their skills, the Path to Pro network offers skill badges that indicate whether someone has an accredited training, is a U.S. Army veteran, or has graduated from the program. Home Depot’s free job training course.
The Path to Pro Network is part of The Home Depot’s broader Path to Pro program that the company offers to help address the growing shortage of skilled labor in the United States and train the next generation of trade professionals.
Announced in late 2020 and launching in 2021, the Path to Pro Skills program provides a free training program for those interested in pursuing and developing a career in the skilled trades and prepares them for their first job.
Path to Pro aims to educate more people in the skilled trades, connect skilled tradespeople to jobs and careers, and generate interest in business occupations through educational campaigns. The Home Depot invests in training, from entry level to advanced certifications, and sponsors week-long boot camps to teach essential industry skills such as jobsite safety, tool use, handling, communication and job skills.
Boot camp graduates earn a Home Depot certificate that recognizes construction skills and career fundamentals. Graduates of the training program are eligible to showcase their work portfolio, experience and additional qualifications, and be contacted by Home Depot Pro customers in their area seeking skilled labor hires through the new Path to Pro website.
Additionally, the Path to Pro website features daily videos and stories for each trade, with industry growth forecasts and salary information in areas such as electrical, carpentry, plumbing and the HVAC.
