Harris Teeter’s hiring event will take place at each location

The grocery chain is looking to hire hundreds of new associates for full-time and part-time positions in various departments.

WASHINGTON — Grocery chain Harris Teeter is looking to hire hundreds of people to become associates at the company’s stores.

According to a statement from Harris Teeter, the grocery store will host a hiring event at each location Thursday between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Full-time and part-time positions will be available in retail operations, which include roles such as produce clerk, bakery clerk, as well as hourly and salaried leadership roles.

“We are excited to hire permanent, full-time associates who are looking for a career with purpose,” said Lauren Furr, Director of Learning and Development and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. “We look forward to welcoming new Associates to the Harris Teeter family who will help us fulfill our purpose of Enriching Lives: One Meal, One Family, One Associate and One Community at a time.”

The latest hiring event hosted by Harris Teeter resulted in the chain offering jobs to more than 300 candidates, according to the company.

Harris Teeter says employees receive benefits aimed at making their lives easier, including:

Those interested in attending Thursday’s event can visit any Harris Teeter store and speak to a customer service interviewer.

“The team will interview each candidate and discuss employment opportunities at this location,” the statement from the grocery store chain read.

Candidates can visit the Harris Teeter website in advance to see what jobs are available and apply online. The store says this step is preferred but not required for an interview.
