The Greenfield Police Department will accept applications from January 16, 2023 through March 5, 2023. The physical and written agility test will take place on Saturday April 29, 2023 at 0800; all applicants will be contacted by email with additional information.
This is an open hiring process and full-backs are encouraged to apply. Lateral applicants (ILEA or equivalent certification) will not take the formal written test or structured interview.
Minimum qualifications:
- Must be a US citizen
- Must be at least 21 years old, but no older than 39 at the time of nomination
- High school diploma or GED
- Must have a valid Indiana driver’s license
- No felony convictions
- Must be able to own firearms
- Must be able to successfully complete the following:
- Indiana Law Enforcement Agency Physical Agility Exit Standards (www.in.gov/ilea/physical-fitness-standards/)
- Written exam
- Oral interview
- Voice stress analysis or polygraph test
- Background check
- PERF medical/psychological examination.
HIRING PROCESS:
- Physical agility and written test (Saturday April 29, 2023 at 08:00 a.m. Venue to be determined)
- Oral interview (to be carried out the week of May 14, 2023)

- Successfully graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy within a year of being hired
SALARY:
- Internship: $61,815.98
- Side hires: up to $67,910.38
$3,000 maximum longevity per year ($150/year of service)
JOB DESCRIPTION/GENERAL DUTIES:
The incumbent is a patrol officer for the Greenfield Police Department, responsible for enforcing federal, state and local laws. To serve and protect individuals, their rights and their property. Build stronger community relationships every day.

DEPARTMENT INFORMATION:
Greenfield population is over 24,000, we are currently hiring 1 agent and building a slate of candidates. We answer approximately 25,000 calls per year. The city has lots of new growth with several trails and parks.
TESTING REQUIREMENTS:
The minimum pass mark for the written exam is 70%. Must pass Indiana Law Enforcement Academy ++exit++ physical agility standards (www.in.gov/ilea/physical-fitness-standards/).
