POSITION: The Kansas City Blazers, located in Johnson County, Kansas, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of full-time age group coach and site manager. This position reports to the Head Coach. A successful candidate would lead one of our age group programs across all sites, in addition to being a site manager at one of our sites overseeing multiple groups.

Assists in the hiring, training and supervision of assistant coaches, ensuring that all programs are implemented in a safe and efficient manner.
Establishes detailed training schedules, arranges rental of aquatic facilities as needed.
Establishes a detailed athlete development plan, ensuring appropriate assistant coaches adhere to and implement the plan to ensure athlete development across club pathways.
Is responsible for ensuring compliance with USA Swimming Safe Sport guidelines.
Cultivates and maintains relationships with athlete parents, community organizations, school districts and other swim groups to ensure productive partnerships are formed and maintained at a level of excellence.
Helps implement a public relations and communications plan to promote the value of the Blazers organization.
Responsible for designing and organizing clinics and special events.
Help with all dating responsibilities.
Create a positive team atmosphere where swimmers learn the values of courage and perseverance. All Blazers coaches are energetic and supportive of the sport of swimming and the Kansas City Blazers.
- Mandatory – High school diploma
- Preferred – Bachelor’s degree in recreation or related field.
Experience can replace a diploma.
- Required – 2 years of coaching experience.
- Required – 2 years of aquatic programming.
- Required – Knowledge of stroke and turn mechanics.
Skills Required: Ability to create collaborative partnerships within the regional swimming community. Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to supervise and direct part-time staff to provide excellent customer service. Attention to detail in formulating training schedules and development plans. Project management skills to help achieve overall membership and budget goals. Knowledge of stroke and turn mechanics in competitive swimming. Energy, enthusiasm for coaching and teaching.
