MSU BILLINGS NEWS—City College at Montana State University Billings and Accelerate Montana announce their partnership and the addition of the Job Site Ready Rapid Training course. City College at MSUB is the newest institution in Montana to partner with Accelerate Montana to offer the Job Site Ready course which provides training opportunities for the Billings community and future skilled construction industry interns in the area. .
The Job Site Ready course is designed to quickly train Montanas in the basic skills needed to join Montana’s booming construction trades. The course can be completed in 45 hours in total and includes 30 hours of self-paced online modules. After completing the online modules, students participate in 15 hours of hands-on training. The final 15 hours to complete the course are offered at City College between October 1 and October 2.
More than 70 interns have completed the Job Site Ready program, and more are expected as they expand offerings to other locations in the state. Former interns are now working in industry, starting apprenticeships and earning degrees in construction trades at state colleges.

Job Site Ready classes are already available in a few locations across the state of Montana, with dates coming this fall at Missoula College (October 1 and 2) and Gallatin College (September 24 and 25). Registration is now open for onsite training dates, and students are encouraged to register early to complete the online portion of the program prior to onsite training programs at all three locations. Additional locations will be added throughout the fall as more partner institutions and colleges join. Rapid training programs in other sectors such as healthcare, technology and manufacturing are being added and will be announced soon.
