Canary Technology Solutions Creates $25 Million IT Services Game by IT Consult, Diversus Group and BCprise

COMPANY NEWS: Canary Technology Solutions, a provider of cutting-edge technology solutions and IT services that advance digital transformation, is today launching three established companies – IT Consult, Diversus Group and BCPrise – to form a major new player in the Australian IT services market with annual revenues of $25 million and significant growth ambitions.

The new company is the realization of a multi-year growth strategy led by IT Consult co-founders Steve Parsonage and Bill Henderson that has doubled revenue, more than tripled the number of employees and resulted in a range of offers and to a considerably enlarged clientele.

“We are excited to take on and build on the strong heritage of the three established businesses, where the ‘sum of the parts’ creates substantial opportunities for expansion and growth. We have a measured growth strategy that allows us to pursue organic growth of Canary’s key pillars, while actively exploring further expansion opportunities through the merger or acquisition of other Australian distribution businesses. The game is on for Canary – and we’re just getting started,” said Steve Parsonage , CEO of Canary Technology Solutions.

Canary Technology Solutions is the renowned result of two business acquisitions established by IT Consult and the novation of local resources from an international retail software provider:

• Diversus Group – a specialist in cloud, information management and data storage consulting, and NetApp’s largest certified delivery partner in Australia. The 18 employees have joined Canary and will sit in the Canary Cloud and Data division, which is led by former Diversus Group CEO Chris “Cyril” Starsmeare.

• BCPrise – a specialist in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, with five employees who have joined the Canary ERP and POS division. LS Retail’s POS system is designed for retailers using Business Central, creating significant synergies with the BCPrise business.

• LS Retail – a provider of management software solutions and point-of-sale systems. IT Consult previously integrated the commercial and technical capacity of LS Retail in the region, with three people transitioning to the Canary ERP and POS division. LS Retail continues to operate as a stand-alone entity in other international markets.

The company’s new brand identity is a nod to IT Consult’s roots as a provider dedicated to protecting and preserving one of the most valuable assets customers have: their data.

Canary Technology Solutions appeals to the “canary in the coal mine”, where miners would take birds into the tunnels as an early warning of the release of dangerous gases from the surrounding rocks. This draws a parallel to Canary Technology Solutions’ role in detecting data threats early and protecting systems and the information they contain.

IT Consult already had partner accreditation with Microsoft and NetApp, but is significantly expanding those partnerships in its new form of Canary Technology Solutions. Diversus Group, for example, owns more than 55% of the professional services share for NetApp in Australia, giving Canary Technology Solutions a much larger presence in the NetApp ecosystem.

Canary Technology Solutions operates on four key integrated pillars: Canary Cloud and Data, Canary Cybersecurity, Canary ERP and POS, and Canary Managed Services.

• Canary Cloud and Data encompasses expertise in public, private and hybrid cloud, as well as data protection services.

• Canary Cybersecurity acts to protect data assets against security threats and to make data quickly recoverable in the event of an incident.

• Canary Managed Services is part of IT Consult’s traditional business, offering everything as a service, from storage, compute and other infrastructure, to networks and voice.

• Canary ERP and POS offers fully integrated point-of-sale solutions to retail and hospitality businesses that use Microsoft Business Core as their ERP system.

“We are delighted to join Canary Technology Solutions,” said Chris ‘Cyril’ Stearsmere, Managing Director of Canary Technology Solutions cloud. “Diversus Group’s core competencies, strategic vendor focus, and our enterprise and government verticals align perfectly with Canary IT. The combined internal competencies, capabilities, and longevity of our key partnerships such as NetApp constitute a solid foundation to bring a rich set of tools and features to support customers in their journey to the cloud.”

Canary Technology Solutions customers include enterprise customers spanning a wide range of verticals such as finance, healthcare, construction, non-profit organizations as well as local, state and federal governments.
