BKFC bare-knuckle brawler Taylor Starling doesn’t care what you think of his appearance on popular subscription-based social media platform OnlyFans.
While much of the debate surrounding fighter compensation is aimed at the UFC and its president Dana White, it’s far from limited to the biggest MMA organization in the world. For BKFC fighter Taylor Starling, it was a constant struggle trying to find the time to train while having to work up to three jobs, while trying to support himself and his children.
Seeing other fighters from around the BKFC and combat sports world make ends meet via the popular fan site, Taylor Starling jumped at the chance to secure financial stability and allow herself the time needed to train for a successful career in the square circle of the BKFC. Although many fans flock to sites like OnlyFans to have a unique interaction with their favorite stars, some criticize the site and those who use it.
“I always tell people, if you don’t pay my bills and put food in my kids’ mouths, your opinion [doesn’t mean] shit for me,” Starling told MMA Fighting. “I hate it, and if people don’t want to do it, or if you think it’s wrong, then you wouldn’t do it, I get it. But at the same time, doing this to follow your dreams, follow your career and shake things up, sit back and say you wouldn’t do something as simple as having a fan site or an OnlyFans, [this is for me] be able to do what [I] really want to do.
“Before my fan site, I was working full time, and I had two part time jobs where I had to work weekends and then manage to find time to practice in the meantime. The fan site n It wasn’t something I was very looking forward to doing, but I knew I wanted to become a better fighter, to be able to fully train and give my all in a fight, so I thought, “Oh, man, I’m going to do it.’ And luckily, I took that leap of faith.
For Taylor Starling, OnlyFans offers an opportunity to connect with the BKFC star’s fans
While OnlyFans is widely seen as a subscription site specifically for accessing NSFW images and videos on its content creators, BKFC star Taylor Starling thinks it’s much more than that. Yes, she offers footage of herself in an undressed state, but it also gives the BKFC brawler the opportunity to interact directly with her biggest fans.
“Some people just want to have a conversation and say ‘Hey Taylor’ or Paige VanZant, and that’s so I can fully focus on the fight. There are times when I lay up at night and I’m like, ‘This is not what I would really like to make money”, but unfortunately people have this idea that once you are a professional [BKFC] fighter that you’re a rich millionaire, and that’s just not how it goes. You have to prepare for this. You have to earn it and work hard, but you can’t do it unless you fully surrender to it.
“People think having a fan site is just selling nude photos and stuff like that, but you can go there and have a more personal conversation with your fans,” Starling said. “It doesn’t always have to be about sex. There are people who go there who enjoy my fighting career who just want to say hello and get a response because Instagram and Facebook filter a lot.
“It bothered me a lot more a year ago when I started it and people were chasing me about it, but now everyone is naked at the end of the day, everyone has their own demons,” Starling continued. “I can train full time, my kids are fed, my bills are paid and I can keep doing what I love. Why would I care what anyone has to say about it? »
Taylor Starling has become one of BKFC’s top female stars in a relatively short time. Most notably, she participated in a five-round war with Charisa Sigala at BKFC Knucklemania. The fight was voted as one of the top 10 craziest BKFC fights. Sigala, an OnlyFans content creator herself, is set to take on social media sensation Paige VanZant at BKFC 31 in October.
