The Computer Science, Electrical and Mathematical Sciences and Engineering Division (https://cemse.kaust.edu.sa) program at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) invites applications for several professorships at all levels (Full, associate professor and assistant professor). The CS program (http://cs.kaust.edu.sa) helps to create a computing infrastructure and to develop and apply computational methods in various fields, covering all aspects of knowledge extraction from big data to achieve economic prosperity and improving the quality of life. All relevant research areas of computer science will be considered, including but not limited to artificial intelligence (broadly defined, including machine learning, robotics, data mining, NLP, etc.), Data Science and Big Data, Computer Systems and Networks, Future Computing Paradigms (including Quantum Computing and Quantum Information Science), Computer-centric Computing man, digital twins and smart cities, resilience and cybersecurity, high performance computing and computational biosciences.

Qualifications

High priority will be given to the overall originality and promise of the nominee’s work rather than the nominee’s sub-area of ​​specialization. Applicants interface with KAUST’s strategic initiatives, including artificial intelligence, climate and livability, resilient computing, cybersecurity, and smart health are encouraged. A completed PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or a related field, and a strong publication record in leading conferences and journals are required. Senior applicants should have demonstrated strong leadership in the field. Women are strongly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be expected to teach graduate courses and build and lead a research group of postdoctoral fellows and graduate students. Faculty members benefit from secure research funding from KAUST and have additional funding opportunities through several sources provided by KAUST and through industry collaborations.
