75% of data science job opportunities are in

NEW YORK, Aug. 30, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Witnessing the growth of data-driven business solutions, Coresignal, one of the leading public business data providers in the alternative data sphere, has examined career opportunities in data science market in its Top Data Summary of Science Jobs data (2022). The company analyzed more than 280,000 data science job postings posted on one of the most popular online job posting platforms in the United States and Europe, posted between January 1, 2022 and January 1, 2022. May 31, 2022.

When analyzing job postings for 14 different data science positions*, it was found that eight of them received higher demand in the first five months of 2022 compared to the others. There were 8,000 or more job openings for each of these eight positions: Data Engineer, Data Analyst, Data Scientist, Data Architect, Database Administrator, Machine Learning Engineer, Business Intelligence Developer, and statistician.

However, the three most sought-after data employees are data engineers, data analysts, and data scientists. Job postings for these positions represent 79% of all job postings analyzed in Europe and the United States

Even though significant differences in the demand for data science professionals have not been detected, it is clear that the greatest demand is in the United States.

Companies were mainly looking for mid-level professionals to fill vacancies. Employees at this level represented 33% of the total number, followed by 29% associate-level positions and 28% entry-level positions. Interestingly, two thousand internship opportunities in the field of data science were detected during the analyzed period.

The spectrum of data science career paths is expanding with new roles focused on specific aspects of data science, such as natural language processing (NLP) and data storytelling. However, data analysis found only 22 jobs for data storytellers and only 366 jobs for NLP engineers in the US and Europe.
