Here are the top three stories from today in Lakewood:

  1. Lakewood City Council President John Litten was featured on “Meet Your Electeds”. Litten wants to bring new businesses and housing opportunities to the heart of the city by redeveloping the former Lakewood Hospital site. See the link for more on Litten. (Spectrum News 1)
  2. Several cities in Ohio received a perfect score of 100 in a national report evaluating municipalities across the country for equality, including Cincinnati, Cleveland and Columbus — but Lakewood scored a 58. Cities were ranked based on the Human Rights Campaign’s Municipal Equality Index for 2022, which ereviewed the inclusiveness of local laws, policies and services for LGBTQ+ residents. (WDTN)
  3. Yesterday, December 5, the St. Edwards High School football team in Lakewood was greeted with celebration after winning their sixth state championship. The celebration included a video tribute and speeches from the team captains. Head coach Tom Lombardo said he was “Super proud, it’s a lot of pressure to deal with, we were rated very well to start. I don’t know if we were the No. 1 team at the start of the year, but we were the best team at the end of the year.” (Fox 8 News)
